BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) Mode is officially ready! You can now use AiBuilder with your Starter Free license by connecting your own AI providers.
š What Starter Free Includes
- ā AskAI and AiBuilder are included and enabled for free.

These features will not appear until you configure the
AI Proxyin your n8n instance environment variables. - ā Starter Free licenses can use AiBuilder with BYOK only.
- ā Legacy mode is not available for Starter Free licenses, as they do not include AI credits.
āØ Key Features
- ā Switch between BYOK and Legacy modes (Legacy available only for paid licenses).
- ā When paid-license AI credits are exhausted, you can switch to BYOK Mode and continue using AiBuilder without downtime.
- ā Full control over your own AI keys, usage, and costs.

- ā¢ Google AI Studio
- ā¢ OpenRouter
- ā¢ OpenAI
- ā¢ Anthropic
- ā¢ AI Gateway (Vercel)
- ā¢ AI Gateway (Cloudflare)
ā³ BYOK Limits (Important)
Starter Free licenses will have a BYOK limit in the future. For now, you can register as many BYOK providers as you want.
